Situated in the Cape Town CBD, South Africa, TheWorkRoom Audio Post is a multiple Emmy Award-winning audio post-production facility. We are a passionate, dedicated team of sound engineers who collaborate to craft award-winning soundtracks for feature films, television, cinema, and radio advertising. At the core of our offering is the combined 48+ years of engineering expertise brought by our lead engineers, Stephen Webster and Micheal Botha, whose experience underpins the quality and consistency of our work.

Blending creativity with technical precision, our team delivers a comprehensive range of services including sound design, music composition, voice casting, and direction. We are highly experienced in sound effects recording, ADR, loop group and foley recording, as well as advanced mixing across 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos, 3D, spatial, and immersive audio formats. Our main stage is proud to be the first Dolby Atmos Home Entertainment (HE) enabled facility in South Africa.

TheWorkRoom has built an impressive portfolio of accolades across film, television, and radio. These include five Emmy nominations (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020), with two Emmy wins for Outstanding Sound in a Series (2014 and 2016). We have also received SAFTA nominations for Best Achievement in Sound Design (2021 and 2022), two Cinema Audio Society (CAS) nominations for Outstanding Sound Mixing (2015 and 2018), and the 2025 AMVCA award for Best Film Sound Design. Our work has contributed to Grand Prix-winning television commercials and multiple Cannes Lion-winning radio campaigns. In 2022, TheWorkRoom was ranked the #1 film recording studio in Africa and the UAE by the Loeries.

Our facilities are designed to accommodate projects of any scale from straightforward voiceovers to complex feature film sound design alongside bespoke music composition and full-service audio production. Founded in 2005 by Stephen Webster, TheWorkRoom now operates four studios, each equipped with the latest Pro Tools HDX systems, Source-Connect Pro Extended, and phone patch capabilities.

We are equally committed to skills development and transformation within the film industry through our internship programme, which provides a vital bridge between education and employment.
