We are a multiple Emmy award winning audio post production facility situated in the Cape Town CBD, South Africa. We are a passionate and dedicated team of sound engineers who work collaboratively to craft award-winning soundtracks for feature film, television, cinema and radio advertising. We are a creative bunch with an impressive aptitude for sound design, music composition, voice casting and directing. We are also technically fluent in sound effects recording, sound design, mixing in 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos, 3D, Spatial or Immersive audio and ADR, Loop Group and Foley recording. Our main stage is the first Dolby Atmos HE enabled facility in South Africa.

TheWorkRoom boasts an impressive list of prestigious credits for film, television and radio, including 5 Emmy nominations ( 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020) with 2 Emmy wins for “Outstanding Sound in a Series” (2014 & 2016), a SAFTA Nomination for “Best Achievement In Sound Design” (2021 & 2022),  two Cinema Audio Society (CAS) nominations for “Outstanding Sound Mixing” (2015 & 2018), Grand Prix-winning television commercials and several Cannes Lion-winning radio commercials amongst others. TheWorkRoom was ranked the #1 film recording studio in Africa and the UAE by the Loeries for 2022.

Our stages are equipped to handle the most sophisticated audio productions, and our team of engineers, sound designers, composers and voice directors are all respected professionals. We are experienced in everything from simple voiceovers to complex feature sound design, as well as bespoke music composition and sound production. TheWorkRoom Audio Post was founded in 2005 by Stephen Webster and currently has four studios. All suites provide the latest in Pro Tools HDX systems with ISDN, Source Connect Pro Extended and phone patch facilities. The installation of a generator and backup UPS’s, means all studios including air conditioning and fresh air supplies remain fully operational during national power outages aka “load shedding”.

TheWorkRoom Audio Post are proud to be supporting TheWorkRoom Productions, a Level 2, Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) company. Likewise, we are committed to skills transfer and film industry transformation through our internship program providing a vital bridge between education and employment.
